I'm having trouble identifying which peaks on my mass spectra represent specific fragments of my compound (17-alpha ethinyl estradiol dervitized with BSTFA + 1%TMCS. MW 441
My confirmation ions are 425 and 232 and my quant. ion is 285.
Can anyone lead me in a direction to try and decipher how this molecule fragments? Should I expect the silyl groups to come off and then any of the other functional groups (OH, CH3)? Would the ring structure split in two or would you expect it not to fragment?
I've been trying to piece together fragments of the molecule but it seems like there are so many options that I probably need a little direction.
