I'm going to be extracting macrophages from mice though intraperitoneal lavage, having recruited the macrophages to the site through injection of thioglycolate to into the IP four days prior to culling. I have plenty of info on that protocol, and the preparation of thioglycolate. What I don't have is any information on pain management or care of the mice after the injection of thioglycolate.
Does anyone have any information or advice for caring for mice with induce inflammatory responses? I need to amend my ethics approval if I’m injecting the mice while they’re alive, and I also don’t want to risk my mice dying or being in pain that could be relieved.
