I am focusing my research on Antiphospholipid syndrome. APS is an autoimmune disorder associated with presence of antibodies to negatively charged or zwitterionic phospholipids and results in recurrent pregnancy loss. It includes complications like preterm labor, intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR), and pre-eclampsia affecting successful pregnancies and accounting for considerable number of significant perinatal mortality and morbidity. Though APS plays a crucial role of it has not been clearly defined. Hence, my interest of research is to identify the pathology of placenta, expression of tissue factor and deposition complement proteins in placenta as well as identification of the mechanism of tissue factor mediated placental thrombosis.
