1.Development of new version of Peptide Library based Homology Search Tool (PLHoST).
Project Description: The PLHoST consist of two modules namely Find Longest Conserved Peptide and Annotate unknown
protein. The PLHoST is written in C, PERL, CGI, Java and the database used for this software is MySQL.
2. Development of Comprehensive Peptide Signature Database CoPSPATH of known completely sequenced pathogenic
bacteria.
Project Description: CoPSPATH is a collection of 63485 invariant peptide signatures which are extracted from 87 pathogenic bacterial
genomes with a minimum occurrence in 7 organisms using PLHOSTFA Peptide Library based Homology Search Tool approach. The graphic interface of CoPSPATH has been designed in ASP and HTML. The RDBMS used is
MS Access and the back end logic for data downloading and data loading has been written in Java and PERL.
3. Development of MPI – Peplib.
Project Description: MPI-Peplib is a web based bacterial peptide library generation tool.
There are 228 bacterial
genomes are available. Parallel peptide library can be generated using 288 node XC HP cluster .Parallel code is written in C using compatible for HP cluster. Front end is written in JSP using APACHE TOMCAT as webserver.
4. Evaluation of Genocluster.
Project Description: Genocluster is an integrated software developed as IGIB and Jalaja technology, Banglore joint project. It contains four different softwares PLHoST,GeneD’cefer,
Proteome Calculator and SeaPath.
5. In-silico
DRUG TARGET VALIDATION utilizing CoPSPATH database .
Project Description: CoPSPATH(Comprehensive Peptide Signature Database of Pathogenic
Bacteria) database contains 64,485 invariant peptide signatures from 87 pathogenic
bacteria. As for the CoPS database (Prakash et al., 2004), the peptide signatures of CoPSPATH are conserved in at least seven pathogenic organisms with a minimum peptide length of 8 residues. These 64,485 invariant peptides of CoPSPATH database are taken as initial data to validate them as in silico
drug target.
6. Evaluation of Parallel PLHoST.
Project Description: PLHoST is a
proteomics tool developed in IGIB. Jalaja technology, Banglore is developing its parallel version.
7. Metagenomic Analysis of the Human Distal Gut Micro biome.
Project Description:
Sequence assembly using different assembly softwares like, AMOS, Celera Assembler and Phrap. Identification of putative ORFs within the assembled contigs using BLASTX and identification of Gut Flora.
