About My Research

The major focus of my laboratory is in diabetes and how this disease affects heparan sulfate proteoglycan formation and lipid metabolism. These studies can uncover concepts that directly impact human disease as altered metabolism of lipids in Type 1 Diabetes can lead to cardiovascular disease, the major cause of mortality in these patients.
