I am Omai

 Hi everybody,

My name is Omai Garner and this is my first blog entry. You may have seen some of my postings in Bioethics or the Genral fourm which I moderate. I will use this spot to write about all things both scientific and (non) scientific. Here is a little about me. I am a postdoc at UCLA in the department of pathology. I work on the interface between glycobiology and virology. We study the interaction of galectin (a carbohydrate binding protein made by many different cell types) and glycosylated viral proteins involved in viral attachment and fusion.

I'm from the beautiful state of Wisconsin, and may also use this blog to occasionally discuss Wisconsin sports. Along those lines, the NBA draft is tomorrow, and I hope the Bucks make a BIG TRADE. The Celtics have shown that a team in the cellar can win a championship with the right trades. Barring a trade, I don't hate the idea of drafting Joe Alexander. Seems like the kind of kid that can make an impact.

Otherwise, go Packers and go Glycobiology.

Omai

Hey marcia, The bucks have made a plethora of terrible trading and drafting decisions. We traded Ray cause we though Redd was just as good. The real question is why did we trade Dirk Nowitski on draft day?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Aaron Rodgers will lead us to the promised land (i hope!!!) Omai
