Lincoln and Darwin and a Monday morning

 Hey Everybody,

Happy Monday morning. I was out cruising the internet this morning, in my stylish Powerbook G4, and ran in to this article in Newsweek:

Who Was More Important: Lincoln or Darwin?

Wow! Thanks Omai. Finally took the time to digest this article a bit. My first thought is I need to read some more, but here goes some random thoughts. 1. I first thought the conclusion that Lincoln is more important than Darwin was utterly ridiculous, because Darwin's theory impacts every living thing on the planet, whereas Lincoln really affected the United States. 2. The Civil War was not fought over slavery, but the cause was taken up towards the middle of the war to rally the North and cripple the South. I'm not sure that abolishion of slavery was Lincoln's original intent. 3. Then I thought. how many countries throughout the world abolished slavery following the Civil War. Thus Lincoln did have a major impact on the world. Finally. I want to know why Darwin was into "catching rats"? Rusty
